Cook Family Undergraduate Scholarship - Up to $6,000

Scholarship Information

The Cook Family Undergraduate Scholarship aims to provide financial support to students majoring in the BA/BS Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership programs. 

Award amounts shall be determined by the recipient’s class and are as follows:

  • Freshman: $3,000
  • Sophomore: $4,000
  • Junior: $5,000
  • Senior: $6,000

Funds can be used to support any SCETL related activity, e.g. research trip, GIE, internship, books, conferences, SCETL course fees, etc.

This scholarship is currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year. The application deadline is March 30, 2023

Undergraduate scholarships shall be awarded to multiple in-state students, who must be a SCETL major, remain in good standing and be making satisfactory progress toward a degree, and have demonstrated financial need.

The donor’s preference is for the recipient(s) to have graduated from a charter high school.

All Cook Family Scholarship recipients will engage in one special academic event per semester, e.g. a seminar on a shared text.

Founders Scholarship - $1,500

Scholarship Information

The Founders Scholarships were created to honor excellent academic achievement and leadership ability by a major or a minor in the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership.

Amount: $1,500

Funds can be used to support any SCETL related activity, e.g. research trip, GIE, internship, books, conferences, SCETL course fees, etc.

This scholarship is currently accepting applications for Spring 2024. The application deadline is October 31, 2023

In the "Supplemental Essay" section please include a 500-word essay regarding how the SCETL program assists with your understanding of the problems in leadership.

Applicants for the Founders Scholarship must be current School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership majors or minors.
